When E initially reached out to me, her inquiry was more than just a formality – it was a beautifully crafted essay that unfolded the romantic narrative of how she and D first crossed paths. The details were vivid, ranging from the serendipitous meeting to the heartfelt proposal, and extending to the nuances of their shared interests, favorite foods, and the leisure activities that brought them joy. In the midst of these personal revelations, E also expressed a deep love for a photography style reminiscent of "#littlepeoplebigworld." As a wedding photographer, I found myself captivated by her story and couldn't help but smile at the sincerity and warmth that emanated from her words. Yes, we, too, fall in love with these inquiries – it's all part of the journey in capturing the essence of each couple's unique love story.
Crossing my fingers that we'd be not only a good match but also align within her budget, we arranged our first meeting over Zoom. The virtual encounter was a delightful confirmation that our collaboration could be something special. Our connection went beyond the technicalities of photography; it was a personal resonance that promised a harmonious partnership. With the meeting a success, I eagerly anticipated the possibility of documenting their journey, starting with engagement photos.
E and D chose the breathtaking Mount Tamalpais for their engagement session, a location that required a scenic drive from San Francisco. Despite the distance, the panoramic views offered by this locale make it an ideal canvas for capturing timeless moments. Shooting in February, when the Bay Area was still adorned in lush greenery from winter rains, added a natural vibrancy to the photographs. Despite initial concerns about potential cold and wind during the sunset, the weather turned out to be surprisingly beautiful, providing the perfect setting for this chapter of their love story.
What struck me most about E and D during the engagement session was their sweetness and laid-back demeanor. The charming detail of their matching Nike shoes added an extra layer of endearment to the shoot, symbolizing their synchronized connection. As the day unfolded seamlessly, I found myself eagerly anticipating the upcoming highlight – documenting their wedding in October at Oceano Hotel in Half Moon Bay. It's a continuation of a story that began with an essay, now evolving into a visual celebration of their love, and I can't wait to be a part of it.
